Cosumnes Community Service District has scholarship opportunities! Cosumnes Recreation Opportunity Fund, Making Waves, and Measure E Scholarship Fund. Each scholarship provides increased access to recreational programs for the underserved members of our community.

Cosumnes Recreation Opportunity Fund

The Cosumnes Recreation Opportunity Fund grants financial assistance to low-income Elk Grove residents who are interested in participating in recreation activities offered by the Cosumnes Community Services District, Parks and Recreation Department. 

This program gives children and adults lifelong learning experiences that promote healthy lifestyles through recreational activities. Its success depends on continuous fundraising efforts through individual donations and events.

Tax-deductible donations to the Cosumnes Recreation Opportunity Fund are accepted year-round. It's easy to contribute! Please make checks payable to the Cosumnes Legacy Foundation, "Recreation Fund," or make your online donation on our website. Your donation today can help a child play! Applications are accepted throughout the year until 50 Elk Grove families have been funded. Funds are limited to $300 per family per calendar year. All applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Measure E Scholarship Fund – At Promise Youth

The Measure E Scholarship is a financial assistance program for At-Promise youth in Elk Grove and surrounding areas interested in participating in recreation opportunities (programs/activities, leagues, and memberships) offered by the Cosumnes Community Services District during the three respective terms of the Cosumnes CSD Service Delivery Calendar (Winter/Spring, Summer, Fall).

Program Qualifications (see guidelines for more information)

  1. Proof of Residency
  2. Household income within allowed range
  3. Proof of Income

Application Availability

The Measure E Scholarship is only available to minors. Applications will be processed on a first-come first-served basis. Applicants will need to rank their preference of programs so staff can allocate funds according to preference in the case of limited funds. Applicants must wait until receiving approval before funds can be used for any registrations.

Making Waves Swim Scholarship

Making Waves Scholarship

Cosumnes CSD is committed to expanding access to swim lessons for low-income families in Elk Grove. Through the Making Waves Scholarship program, eligible residents can register their children for two group swim lesson sessions. In summer, each session consists of eight 25-minute classes over two weeks. In Spring and Fall, each session consists of four 25-minute classes over two weeks. Approved participants will also receive a swimsuit, towel, and goggles (while supplies last), ensuring every child has the essentials to participate and succeed.

Applications are accepted throughout the year until at least 30 children of Elk Grove families have been funded.
