The crisp, vibrant hues of fall are approaching us! For this year's scarecrow contest, we challenge you to bring the "Colors of Autumn" to life. Your scarecrow should embody the rich palette of the season—from the deep reds and fiery oranges of changing leaves to the golden yellows of harvest corn and the warm browns of the earth.
These scarecrows will amaze and delight festivalgoers while being prominently displayed in the festival’s Scarecrow Alley on October 4 & 5, 2025.
Event Details
- Entries must be fully assembled by Saturday, October 4, at 9 am.
- Entries must remain until 5:30 pm on Sunday, October 5.
- Scarecrow Alley, Giant Pumpkin Festival, Elk Grove Park (north side of the lake)
Registration
- Cost: $10 Entry Fee (includes two-day parking pass)
- Advanced registration is required. Day-of entries are not accepted.

Categories
- Youth Open (individuals 12 and under)
- Teen/Adult Category (groups and individuals ages 13+)
Prizes
First, second, and third place prizes will be awarded in each category.
- First Place $250
- Second Place $100
- Third Place $50
People's Choice
A $100 cash award will be presented to the entry that receives the most votes from event attendees.
Best Theme Scarecrow
A $100 cash award will be presented to the entry that most accurately captures the spirit of this year's theme.
