Cosumnes Recreation Opportunity Fund and Making Waves Swim Scholarships provide increased access to recreational programs for the underserved members of our community.

Cosumnes Recreation Opportunity Fund
The Cosumnes Recreation Opportunity Fund grants financial assistance for Elk Grove residents to participate in recreation activities offered by the Cosumnes Community Services District, Parks and Recreation Department.
This program gives children and adults in need lifelong learning experiences that promote healthy lifestyles. Its success depends on continuous fundraising efforts through individual donations and events.
Tax Deductible Donations
Tax deductible donations to the Cosumnes Recreation Opportunity Fund are also accepted year-round. It’s easy to contribute. Please make checks payable to the Cosumnes Legacy Foundation, "Recreation Fund." Your donation today can help a child play. Making Waves Scholarship
Cosumnes CSD is working with the City of Elk Grove and Kiwanis Club of Laguna-Elk Grove to help increase access to our aquatic facilities and swim lessons through the Making Waves Scholarship program. The program has been designed to provide access to swim lessons by providing a swim suit, goggles, a towel, and two sessions of swim lessons for the underserved children in the Elk Grove Community.
Application Availability
Applications are accepted throughout the year until at least 30 children have been funded. Funds are limited to 1 per child per calendar year. Review the scholarship guidelines /documentcenter/view/23599 included in the application linked below:
The scholarship is closed for the year. It will reopen in December of 2023 for the year 2024.
Making Waves - RAD Scholarship
Cosumnes CSD is working with The K&A Spease Foundation to help increase access to our aquatic facilities and aquatic programs through the Making Waves Recreation Adventures (RAD) Scholarship program. The program has been designed to provide access to aquatic programs lessons by providing a swim suit, goggles, a towel, a water bottle and access to multiple programs in and around the water for the underserved members in the Elk Grove Community.
