Plan Review and Inspections
4 Steps to Plan Review
Step 1: Electronic Plan Submittal
- Create an account for the online portal the first time visiting the site. How to for Customers - Overview (PDF)
- Separate applications, fees, and plan submittals are required for each plan type (e.g., civil plans, architectural plans, fire sprinkler plans, fire alarm plans, etc.).
- Complete the online application and upload documents.

- Special Events - call to schedule a Pre-Event Meeting where staff will discuss your event and requirements. Must be at least 90 days before the event begins.
Step 2: Pay Fees
- Each permit workflow will end with the Customer paying fees. Fees must be paid prior to plans being reviewed. To pay fees, go to the online portal.

- Hourly fees for plan review shall be assessed for 2nd and subsequent resubmittals and revisions.
- Subsequent re-inspections are subject to hourly fees.

Step 3: Track Application Status in the Online Portal
- Track permit applications through the phases: application, review, inspection, and completion.
- Utilize the online portal to request time extensions and meetings, revisions. For more information, see How to for Customers—Requests (PDF).
- First-time plan reviews generally take 15 business days, and subsequent plan reviews (resubmittals and revisions) typically take 10 business days.
Step 4: Request Inspections
- Requests for Inspections will continue to be made from the website until the transition to the new system is complete.
