Yes, eligible candidates may be placed on multiple eligibility lists. However, a candidate’s rank on one list does not transfer to another. Candidates must successfully pass the recruitment and examination process for each eligibility list.

An Eligibility List is a list of candidates who have successfully passed the recruitment and examination process for a specific classification. Qualified candidates who pass the examination are placed on a certified Eligibility List. Candidates from the certified Eligibility List are referred to the department to fill vacancies as they occur.

The examination will specifically relate to the job description established by the district. The final score shall be determined by the total of the scores earned for each part of the examination, based on the relative weight assigned to each part of the examination.
Once the list is certified, candidates will receive notice of their exam results, including their rank on the list.
An eligibility list will remain active for 12 months unless extended or terminated earlier. Candidates on the eligibility list will be notified of any changes to the expiration date.
Yes, candidates who decline to be interviewed two (2) times will be removed from the list. Additionally, candidates who interview four (4) times for a position on the same eligibility list and are not selected will be removed from the list.
Yes. Candidates may be removed from an eligibility list for any of the reasons identified in policy 3117, recruitment and selection.
When vacancies occur, the top three (3) candidates from the ranked list will be referred to the hiring manager for the selection interview process. Candidates will receive notification from hr to determine interest in the position. Once notified, candidates have three (3) calendar days to respond.
All candidates referred are determined to be qualified, and upon completion of the selection interview process, the hiring manager may select any eligible candidate referred from the Eligibility List. For example, if there are six (6) names on the list, the District must first choose from numbers 1, 2, or 3; if number 3 is selected, the second hire must be made from numbers 1, 2, or 4, et cetera.
If an additional vacancy in the same workgroup exists within ninety (90) days of the initial interview, the hiring manager may elect to forego the selection interview process.
